How updates work

Ears periodically checks an update feed published alongside the app's releases. The feed lists the current version, the minimum macOS version it needs, and its release notes.

When a newer version is available, the app tells you and shows the release notes for that version. You decide whether to install it; nothing is applied without your confirmation.

An update is never installed while a recording is in progress. If a check completes mid-meeting, the app waits until the recording has finished before offering to restart.

Every version, along with its notes and downloads, is listed on the GitHub releases page.
